Master’s Thesis on Tamper Detection, Dentification and Retrieval of Digital Facial Images.

College of Engineering at Al Iraqia University discussed a master’s thesis on detecting, identifying and retrieving tampering with digital facial images by researcher Montather Haider Hilal.

The thesis dealt with the creation of a new system for authenticating medical images that has the ability to detect different types of tampering with facial images, determine the location of tampering, and retrieve the original face when the tampering is detected.

The proposed scheme is based on a technique Watermarking+ Bicubic interpolation algorithms.

The proposed scheme consists of two algorithms, the first on the sender’s side to include retrieval data and the other on the recipient’s side to retrieve the facial image after detecting and identifying tampering with the facial image. The attention of scientific journals was directed to the proposed scheme because it is the first scheme with the ability to retrieve the facial image after detecting and identifying the tampering.
