A Workshop Entitled Modeling and Simulation of the Partial Shading System of Photovoltaic Unit

Under the auspices of the Rector of Al- Iraqia University, Prof. Dr. Ali Saleh Hussein, and the supervision of Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mowaffaq Shia’ Alwan… College of Engineering, at Al- Iraqia University, held a workshop entitled Modeling and Simulation of the Partial Shading System of the Photovoltaic Unit, with the participation of a number of faculty in the college, delivered by Dr. Ali Mahmoud Jassim

The workshop included renewable energy represented by solar energy, wind energy, waves, etc., and knowledge of new solutions to the growing energy needs. Solar energy is one of the best and most common types of energy used, as it includes photovoltaic technology, in addition to the effect of partial shading on the photovoltaic unit using MATLAB / SIMULINK program.

The workshop aims to study the problem of shadows and waves cast by objects and obstacles adjacent to the solar panel system on them, which cause blocking of sunlight from them, and it is a problem that many engineers suffer from, especially when designing solar systems or small systems designated to feed buildings, where trees, buildings and obstacles that cast shadows on the panels abound solar.
