College of Engineering Holds a Workshop on (Rehabilitation Plan for Concrete and soil Laboratories within Standard Specification 17025:2017

Under the auspices of Rector of Al- Iraqia University, Prof. Dr. Ali Salih Hussein, and under supervision of Dean of College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mowaffaq Shia’ Alwan… College of Engineering, Al- Iraqia University, held a workshop entitled “A plan for the rehabilitation of concrete and soil laboratories within the standard specification 17025: 2017” with the participated by of a number of faculty in the college, it was delivered by Eng. Tayseer Khudair Abbas, affiliated with Ministry of Sciences and Technology.
The workshop dealt with the administrative requirements within the standard specification ISO 17025: 2017. The first requirement is to define general frameworks for administrative organization inside the organization and confirm the administrative requirements to define goals and policy of the organization in implementing the quality management system, in addition to defining the standard specifications in the responsibilities and powers within the scope of work and in the standard issued in 2017 as well. The workshop emphasized two main axes (impartiality and confidentiality) to ensure that the work is completed in a secure manner, far from nepotism. In addition, the standard ensured the achievement of a suitable work environment for workers in testing and measurement laboratories.
The workshop aims to legislate the administrative and technical organizational structure, clarify the mechanism of linkage between the senior in the institution and the concrete and soil testers in the Civil Engineering Department, and define the responsibilities and powers by the senior department within the laboratory quality management, as well as the work distribution mechanism for the administrative and technical cadres within a work matrix that shows the distribution of tasks in the laboratory.
