Joint cooperation Between Women’s Empowerment Unit at Al- Iraqia University and National Security Adviser

Head of Women’s Empowerment Unit at Al- Iraqia University, Dr. Bushra Hussein Salih, chaired the training workshop held by Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies at National Security Adviser that tagged “Phenomenon of Divorce in Iraqi Society – Reality and Cost”, and in the presence of Mrs. Ibtisam Al-Hilali, Head of Parliamentary Women, Family and Childhood Committee.

The training workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Ali Nasser, Head of Al-Nahrain Center for National Security Advisers, who delivered a speech on behalf of National Security Adviser, Mr. Qassem Al-Araji, working papers were presented. The intervention of the Islamic researcher Mr. Ali Al-Talqani topped the work papers in which he presented the role of religion in limiting divorce. With same title, the Shiite Endowment Office presented his intervention, then the intervention of Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs on the axis of social protection, then Ministry of Interior on the role of institutions in solving family problems, then the attendance participated in the comments of the various governmental institutions in the legislative and executive authorities. At the end of the workshop, recommendations were presented to Representative Ibtisam Al-Hilali as proposals to reduce the increasing number of divorces within Iraqi families for the purpose of adopting them as solutions by Iraqi Parliament.
