Historical Stories as a Tool to Promote Educational Values in a Course at the College of Education

The History Department at the College of Education, Al-Iraqia University, organized a training course entitled “Historical Stories as a Tool to Promote Educational Values” for the period from 19-20/2/2025.
The course, presented by both Assist. Lect. Muhammad Adnan Ali and Assist. Lect. Qutaiba Mahmoud Jamil, aimed to enable participants to use historical stories as an effective tool in instilling educational values.
The course included several axes, the most important of which are the importance of historical stories, defining the historical story and its role in shaping identity and values, then discussing the difference between historical narration and educational analysis of events and the importance of linking the past to the present in value education, in addition to analyzing educational values in historical stories, as well as classifying the values extracted from stories and how to derive lessons from them, and concluded with historical examples of using stories to promote educational values.
The course was attended by a number of students from the department.
