The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Arts, Al-Iraqia University, held a scientific symposium entitled (Mechanisms for Promoting the Culture of Integrity and its Role in Combating Financial and Administrative Corruption), which was attended by a group of college professors and students.
The symposium, in which Assist. Lecgt. Shilan Kazim, Assist. Lect. Rasha Nihad, and Assist. Lect. Sara Suhail lectured, discussed the primary responsibility for combating corruption that falls on the official authorities through their oversight role, ensuring the independence of the judiciary, and establishing an integrated legal system; This is due to the importance of the issue of integrity, which enhances transparency and contributes to ensuring the integrity of government institutions and eliminating corruption, which requires a comprehensive system of powers in education. It also requires selecting competent employees who believe in the integrity of work, activating administrative oversight of government institutions, enhancing legal culture and knowledge of rights and duties, in addition to applying ethical standards in business dealings by holding conferences and symposia, raising awareness of the dangers of corruption, and the importance of integrity and cooperation.
The symposium aimed to highlight the importance of integrity that preserves the rights of citizens and citizenship in all state institutions and stressed the concerted efforts of state institutions in spreading the values ​​of integrity and the sanctity of public money. During the symposium, interventions and discussions took place on the legal and technical means that can be followed in order to preserve public money and avoid corruption that occurs without infringing on human rights.
