Al-Iraqia – College of Medicine Organizes Awareness Lectures Series on “Energy and Environmental Sustainability”

In accordance with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research directives and at Al-Iraqia University rectorship, the Department Quality Assurance Division, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Medicine, had completed the implementation of a series of awareness lectures on energy and environmental sustainability during the first semester of the academic year 2024-2025.
The awareness lectures series was coordinated under the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Ahmed Nizar Al-Dabbagh supervision, and with the Dean’s Assistants for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Nawar Sahib Khalil and Dr. Haifa Mahmoud Fahd follow-up.
The lectures were presented by assistant lecturers Israa Ahmed Abdul Hussein, Mahmoud Shaker Khashman, and Muhammad Abdul Qader, aiming to spread the energy sustainability and environmental conservation culture in different societies. The lectures targeted all students, employees, and professors of the college.
In a statement, Assistant Lecturer Mahmoud Shaker Khashman, the head of the Quality Assurance Division, had confirmed that these lectures represent the outcome of the first semester and that there is a second series of lectures planned for the second semester.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Nizar Al-Dabbagh explained: “We are proud of the service projects that have been accomplished using healthy energy, which reflects the college’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community health care.” He stressed that these efforts come within the framework of seeking to enhance environmental sustainability, reduce environmental pollution and emissions, and enhance environmental awareness among students and staff.
This event reflects the commitment of the University of Iraq and the College of Medicine to sustainable education and achieving sustainable development goals within the framework of health care and the environment.
