Speech of the University Rector on the Occasion of (Victory Day)

On behalf of myself and the members of Al-Iraqia University, including faculty, staff, and students, I extend congratulations and blessings to the great Iraqi people on the occasion of the anniversary of Iraq’s liberation from the forces of evil and darkness on the 10th of December each year.
That cherished occasion, crowned with victory drawn by the courage of the sons of Mesopotamia and the armed forces in all their divisions, and their defense against enemies who detest life, peace, and prosperity.
This victory was shaped by the blood of our heroic martyrs from the security forces, “who freed the land of Iraq.”
—those brave souls who wrote the most honorable and glorious epics in defense of the great homeland.
As always, Iraq writes a glorious history and adds another chapter to the annals of eternal heroism on the anniversary of the great victory over the criminal ISIS gangs, thanks to the united efforts of our valiant armed forces—men of the army and police, and the heroes of the Popular Mobilization Forces who contributed to defeating terrorism.
This victory, now a badge of honor on the chests of the heroes from our great Iraqi people, is owed to Allah Almighty and to the sacrifices of the noble martyrs… with their pure souls and their precious blood, which thwarted the dark schemes and their despicable plans to desecrate the sacred land of Iraq.
I extend my gratitude, appreciation, and thanks to all the men who gave their lives and shed their blood so that the banner of Iraq remains high, proud, revered, and unyielding to any treacherous aggressor.
Glory, immortality, and the highest ranks to our noble martyrs who sacrificed their lives so that our nation may remain free, proud, and dignified.
Professor Dr. (Ali Saleh Al-Jubouri)
