Dangers of Drugs and Psychoactive Substances and their Impact on Individuals and Society

Under the patronage of the University Rector, Prof. Dr. Ali Saleh Hussein, and under the supervision of his Vice for Scientific affairs, Prof. Dr. Khamis A. Zidane

As part of Iraqi Anti-Drug Week activities, Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division, organized, an awareness and educational field campaign was conducted to highlight the dangers of drugs and psychoactive substances and their impact on individuals and society. The campaign took place at the College Complex in Sabaa Abkar.

The campaign aimed to shed light on the dangers of drugs and psychoactive substances, educating the student community about the risks of this scourge that disrupts the harmony of society at large and negatively affects both individuals and families.

The campaign also included the distribution of several printed materials explaining the negative effects of drugs on physical and mental health, raising awareness among students about the dangers of drug addiction and use, their adverse health, psychological, and social impacts, and ways to prevent them. Additionally, the campaign introduced students to the dedicated reporting hotlines for cases of drug use, addiction, and trafficking.
