A Scientific Workshop Discusses the Legal and Social Treatments for Phenomenon of Migration

A scientific workshop at College of Islamic Sciences at the University entitled “Legal and Social Treatments for the Phenomenon of Migration” discussed ways to confront this growing phenomenon and its repercussions on individuals and society. The workshop, which was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. (Kadhum Khalifa Hammadi), aimed to shed light on the factors causing the phenomenon of migration and to provide effective legal and social solutions and treatments to reduce it at the local and international levels.

The workshop, which was lectured by Director of Department of Comparative Religions, Professor Dr. Abdullah Abdul Muttalib, Dr. Hoda Abdul Wahid, and Dr. Sara Qasim Matar, included a definition of immigration concept, a presentation of the factors leading to the spread of this phenomenon, in addition to analyzing the legal, social, and religious positions associated with it, with a presentation of practical recommendations and legal procedures to limit its spread and guarantee the rights of immigrants.
