College of Engineering, in cooperation with Security Permits Department at the University Presidency and in coordination with Ministry of Interior, held a seminar on the national policy for regulating weapons and restricting them to the state.

Presented by:

Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Nemah Rasen, Director of Security Permits Department

Major General Mansour Ali Sultan

Colonel Amer Kazum Ibrahim

Lieutenant Colonel Salam Sadiq Maktouf

The symposium included preventing the spread of unlicensed weapons and how the authorities deal with them in terms of carrying and using them and the penalties that may be imposed on people who carry weapons without a license or security approvals, noting that there are exceptional circumstances that contributed to the spread of these weapons, most notably the wars that Iraq went through and the subsequent spread of terrorist organizations in some areas, which forced citizens to acquire these weapons for personal protection.

The symposium aims to raise awareness in society about the danger of widespread weapons as they threaten the security, political, economic and social stability of the country.
