A Dialogue Session on :(Women, Security and Peace Agenda)

Effective presence of Al Iraqia University in a dialogue session on the Women, Security and Peace Agenda held by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and In implementation of National Strategy for Iraqi Women for the years (2023-2030) for the protection axis in the Women, Security and Peace Agenda and in line with the Iraqi government’s policy in supporting  Lebanese and Palestinian peoples through solidarity and relief efforts, and for the purpose of supporting women in both the Republic of Lebanon and the State of Palestine, National Department for Women’s Affairs in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, in cooperation with United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq, and the International Organization for Migration, held the annual conference (Women, Security and Peace) under the slogan: (Together for the Security and Safety of Women in Lebanon and Palestine)

The opening of the conference was through speeches delivered by the Director General of the Iraqi National Women’s Circle, Ms. Dina Al-Shammari, Head of the Women, Family and Childhood Committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives, a speech by the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, as well as a speech by the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women and Development in Kurdistan Region, in addition to speeches by representatives of ambassadors in Palestine and Lebanon and a speech by the representative of the United Nations for Women in Iraq, then a presentation given by the National Circle on strengthening the role of women, security and peace in Iraq, the main achievements and progress Then two discussion sessions were held, the first entitled “Enhancing Women’s Leadership and Security in the Stability and Development Agenda in Iraq” presented by Dr. Bushra Al-Zuwaini, Women’s Affairs official at Al Iraqia University, while the second session, entitled “Enhancing Women’s Leadership and Participation in Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding,” was presented by Dr. Ahlam Al-Bahli, a lecturer at College of Education for Women, in addition to the attendance of the Dean of College of Education for Women, Dr. Huda Nouri Shukr, and the manager of the Kindergarten Department, Dr. Ashwaq Naseef Jassim, from the College of Education for Women.
