Political and Economic Conditions and Their Impact on the Work of Lebanese Banks 1946-1975 AD

The thesis presented by the student Ayat Tayseer Mutlaq / History Department aimed to know the extent of the relationship between politics and economics and its impact on the conditions and capabilities of the country, especially the banks that affected the political path of the country and worked to build sectarianism and wars among the Lebanese people and worked to dominate capitalism and foreign governments and their interference in the affairs of the country.
The thesis included an introduction, a preface, three chapters, and a conclusion. The first chapter covered the political and economic conditions and their impact on the work of Lebanese banks 1946-1958. The second was entitled “The deterioration of the political and economic conditions and their impact on the work of banks in Lebanon 1958-1964.” The third chapter was entitled “The impact of banking sector on the political and economic conditions in Lebanon 1964-1975.”
The study reached a number of results, including that Lebanon has become a regional financial center where business is managed with foreign countries and Arab countries, benefiting from the expansion in establishing many foreign and local banks, and that the Lebanese banking policy was a major reason for the development of the Lebanese economy, which benefited from international, regional and local developments and followed the system of economic freedom and the Western liberal system.
The thesis was approved with a very good rating.
