Delegation of Al-Iraqia University Visits Tenaga University in Malaysia.
In implementation of the plans and visions of Al Iraqia University to enhance international academic cooperation, the first stop for the University delegation was to visit University Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) Malaysia, a university supported by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), the largest electricity company in Malaysia. The delegation was headed by Prof. Dr. Khamis A. Zidan , Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs . During the visit, a comprehensive introductory presentation was given about Al Iraqia University and its most prominent achievements since its establishment in 1989 at the international and local levels. The mechanisms and opportunities for international cooperation and their activation between the two universities were also discussed.
Rector of UNITEN University was invited to visit Al Iraqia University in Baghdad soon to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, which has completed all the legal requirements for signing. The Memorandum of Understanding focused on enhancing academic cooperation by sending professors to complete post-doctoral studies, exchanging scholarships for undergraduate and graduate studies, providing research grants, as well as the participation of Al Iraqia university staff in the summer language courses held by the University, and receiving Malaysian students to participate in Arabic language learning programs.
The visit included a tour of the University’s facilities, research centers and laboratories, where some of the most important achievements, innovations and projects of the University’s research teams, students and professors were reviewed in cooperation with international companies to finance these projects. These steps aim to raise the level of university performance and enhance cultural and scientific exchange between the two universities.
