College of Arts Holds its Second International Conference

Translation Department at College of Arts opened the activities of its second international scientific conference entitled (Building Bridges of Communication, Artificial Intelligence, Languages, Literature and Translation in the Age of Digitalization) in presence of a number of deans of the university’s faculties.
The ceremony’s activities included opening with the national anthem, reading verses from Holy Quran by Professor Dr. Abbas Hamid Sultan, and showing a documentary film that embodies the history of College of Arts.
The activities also included a speech by Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, Professor Dr. Abbas Lutfi Hussein, who welcomed the guests, explained the conference topics, and announced the number of research papers submitted to the conference, which were 42 local and international papers.
In a speech by the Head of Translation Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Kareem, he pointed out the importance of artificial intelligence in increasing the efficiency and quality of translation, while Professor Dr. Rafid Abdul Amir, Head of the Translation Department at Al-Mansour College, presented a study on translating (Baghdadi proverbs into English).
The activities concluded by honoring the researchers with shields and certificates of participation.
