College of Education Hosts the Dean of College of Education at (Al-Bayan University)
Within the framework of scientific cooperation with other private and governmental universities, which was confirmed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Al- Iraqia University, represented by English Language Department in the College of Education for (Women), hosted Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Jabir Ghaben, Dean of the College of Education at Al-Bayan University, who presented a scientific lecture on narrative and survival: (Scheherazade and Narrative) for professors and students of English Department at the college.
The focus of the scientific lecture’s discussion was on the relationship between the ability to narrate and survive, and it becomes profoundly evident when stories become shields against adversity and bridges of steadfastness stories, in their many forms, become media of human experience, manifestations of knowledge, and saviors of culture across generations in the face of existing challenges.
The objectives of the lecture focused on the need for individuals to exploit the power of narrative to maintain identity and belonging, whether through oral traditions, literature, or digital media. The art of narrative not only contributes to creating a sense of belonging, but also spreads hope in the midst of life’s adversities, and thus the ability to narrative becomes an indispensable tool. In this exciting interaction between the ability of narrative and survival, Scheherazade, the heroine of (One Thousand and One Nights), appears as a continuing symbol of steadfastness and the enduring power of human imagination.
