Children’s Rights in Islam and law, a Symposium at College of Education

Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at College of Education, Al-Iraqia University, organized a symposium entitled Children’s Rights in Islam and Law.

The symposium, which was presented by Assistant Lecturer Atheer Abdel-Jabbar Muhammad from Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Assistant Lecturer Hawraa Jaber Saleh from Registration Department at the University, and Assistant Lecturer Taqa Muayyad Fadel from College of Education, aimed to identify children’s basic rights and how to dealing with them.

The symposium included a number of topics, including the fixed and documented lineage of the child, child’s right to life, equality among all children, areas of protection stipulated in the Convention on Rights of the Child, state measures in the field of education, International Convention on Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination, in addition to some other topics.

The symposium was attended by a number of teaching staff and college students.
