An Awareness-Raising Campaign in Cooperation with Iraqi Ministry of Defense

Under the patronage of Dean of College of Education, under the slogan of “A Better Tomorrow.”

Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at College of Education Al- Iraqia University, in cooperation with Iraqi Ministry of Defense – General Directorate of Intelligence and Security, and the Educational Guidance and Guidance Division at the University organized an awareness-raising campaign on several axes. The campaign included the opening of an exhibition of awareness-raising paintings to stop negative phenomena in society. This exhibition was a result of team work between teaching staff and students of the College and Educational Guidance and Guidance Division at Al- Iraqia University.

There are many negative phenomena that have begun to multiply significantly in society during the recent period, such as drugs, suicide, smoking, shooting, homosexuality and other phenomena that have a negative impact on the security and stability of society, and the soundness of relations between its elements.

The second axis was a scientific symposium in cooperation with Iraqi Ministry of Defense on drugs and their psychological, social and economic effects, risks and solutions presented by Colonel Muhammad Jabbar Zaboun from General Directorate of Intelligence and Security.

As for the third topic dealt with a lecture for the fourth stage students in the department about hope, given by student (Siham Majeed Rashid).

The last topic on domestic violence is by teacher Atheer Abdel-Jabbar from Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. At the end of the campaign, Dean of the College thanked and appreciated those in charge of campaign for the great efforts made to make it a success, and certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants, wishing them further progress and giving.
