Department of Civil Engineering Organizes an Exhibition of Laboratory Equipment and Materials

Prof. Dr. Ali Saleh Al-Jubouri, under the supervision of Dean of College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Malik Abdul Razzaq Jabbar,Department of Civil Engineering at College of Engineering at Al- Iraqia University organized, under the slogan “A Step on the Road,” an exhibition of laboratory equipment and materials for the hydrology subject. The exhibition included a collection of models of laboratory equipment and hydrological laboratory materials made by department’s students.

This exhibition aims to stimulate the creativity of students by dealing with the technical and detailed difficulties of these devices through research and investigation within published sources internationally and locally, in addition to consulting those with expertise through the teamwork method, which in turn develops the skills of integrating efforts among members of one group, thus creating the seed for achieving targets, no matter how small, so that it can be developed in the future efforts.

20 models were presented, completely manufactured by the students and at their own expense, varied between devices for measuring surface water depths and the speed of water flow in them, in addition to measuring rainfall rates in different locations using different mechanical, electronic or mixed methods, and models of the hydrological cycle in nature.

The exhibition witnessed a remarkable presence of professors and officials of College of Engineering, in addition to its students from various departments.
