Impact of Internet Addiction on Psychological Anxiety

Under the patronage of Dean of College of Arts, Professor Dr. (Hussein Dakhel Al-Bahadli),Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit held its scientific symposium in cooperation with English Department under the title (Internet addiction and its effects to level of psychological anxiety among college students). The symposium was given by: Dr. Wafa Ahmed Mustafa and Dr. Rawa Haider Saleh  headed by Assistant Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Arif, Chairman, and Dr. Adnan Ali Hamza, Rapporteur.

The symposium included a detailed explanation of the most important psychological effects and excessive misuse of Internet, including anxiety disorders, depression, physiological and psychological changes, disturbance in general sensory perception, imbalance in perceptions, in addition to stress, nervousness, and low self-worth.

The symposium aimed to introduce students to the misuse of the Internet, its psychological effects, and the most important treatments.
