Child Protection Symposium Hosted by (White Organization for Women and Children)

White Woman and Child Organization hosted the head of Women’s Empowerment Unit at Al- Iraqia University, as well as Mrs. Dina Al-Shammari, Head of Women, Family and Childhood Committee, and Brigadier General Adnan Al-Salami, Head of the Family Protection Department at Ministry of Interior.

Several topics were discussed, including the Child Protection Law. Does Iraq need it? Why was it not approved despite Iraq’s accession to the Convention on Child Protection in 1994?

Dr. Bushra Al-Zwaini, head of women’s empowerment, presented her paper in which she explained that due to the recent exacerbation of violence against children, it became necessary to legislate legal articles to protect the entire Iraqi family and child in particular.
