A Workshop on Modern Research Methods in Media Studies

Under the auspices of Dean of College of Media at Al- Iraqia University, Prof. Dr. Ethar Tariq Al-Obeidi, Department of Journalism, in cooperation with the regional office of (ARID) platform in Iraq and the College of Media at Simon Fraser University Canada, organized a scientific training workshop entitled :(Modern Research Methods in Media Studies) physically and electronically and in cooperation with the technical team of the platform, and participation of a number of college professors and students, on  Al-Hikma Hall at the college’s headquarters.

The workshop, which was presented by the international trainer, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Rawi, and directed by Head of the Journalism Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Jamal Abdel Namous, aimed at clarifying how to write media research in a professional and scientific manner in light of the technical and technological development, as well as how to employ modern technical means in content analysis and building survey measures in the questionnaire form, which provides advanced research tools that allow the researcher to complete his research using very advanced methods.

The workshop included many axes, the most prominent was the explanation of big data analysis, sensory dimensions analysis, questionnaire of apparent topics, analysis of news and social media messages, and automatic analysis of images through artificial intelligence techniques.
