A Group of Professors at Faculty of Information at Al- Iraqia University Participate in Activities of the Third International Scientific Conference of Al-Baseerha Society

A group of professors from the Faculty of Mass Communication at the Iraqi University participated in the activities of the seventh local and third international scientific conference of the Al-Baseeraha Association for Media Research and Development, in cooperation with Salah al-Din University in Erbil and the IRID International Platform for Arabic-speaking scholars, experts and researchers, under the title “Media in the Age of Artificial Intelligence Technology.” With participation of a number of academics and researchers from various Iraqi and Arab Universities.

The conference witnessed holding of six online and online research sessions over two days, with the participation of (25) scientific research in the field of media. The researchers focused on the media’s relationship with artificial intelligence and how to employ it in producing media contents that serve society and protect it from external intellectual and cultural attacks that attack its beliefs and moral and value system. In addition, the conference also witnessed holding of scientific lectures and seminars on metaverse technology and the effects of artificial intelligence on society at all levels.

The college was represented in the conference by each of Prof. Dr. Ethar Tariq Al-Obeidi, Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Saif Alaa Naji, Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Gamal Abdel Namous, Head of the Journalism Department, the teachers are each of Prof. Dr. Sahar Khalifa Salem and Prof. Dr. Adnan Al-Rubaie, Lecturer Muhammad Bakr, Lecturer Ali Dawood, and Lecturer Hanan Haidar.

At the end of its sessions, the conference recommended the need for Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq, universities, colleges and media departments to pay attention to the introduction of techniques for using of artificial intelligence in the curricula, stressing the need to pass laws and legislation that regulate the use of these technologies away from harming society, and to obtain the most It is possible to take advantage of these technologies in the service of the common good.
