College of Engineering Holds a Scientific Symposium on (Accreditation of Laboratories According to Standard 17025)

Under the auspices of Rector of Al- Iraqia University, Prof. Dr. Ali Saleh Hussein, supervision of Dean of College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mowaffaq Shia’ Alwan / College of Engineering, Al- Iraqia University, held a scientific symposium entitled Laboratories Reliability to Standard 17025, participated by number of instructors, it was delivered by Lecturer Tayseer Khudair Abbas,a member of Ministry of Science and Technology and a teacher at Central Technical University.

The symposium dealt with  accreditation of laboratories to the standard specification 17025: 2017, one of the important requirements in both public and private sector institutions to secure laboratories similar to accredited international laboratories, in addition to obtaining a laboratory accreditation certificate that brings several benefits, including reducing public waste in cost and time, training employees and developing scientific staff as well about the acquisition of public relations at local and global levels.

The symposium aims to establish a quality management system (QMS) in engineering laboratories and set a financial budget (Quality Budget) to initiate the implementation of QMS quality management system.

In addition to the types of documents Type of Documents to obtain accreditation in engineering laboratories, as well as mechanism for establishing a document coding system within terms of Standard Specifications 17025:2017.
