Web Applications Development

Under the auspices of Rector of Al- Iraqia University, Prof. Dr. Ali Saleh Hussein, supervised by Dean of  College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mowaffaq Shia’ Alwan… Faculty of Engineering in University held a workshop entitled: Web Applications Development, attended by number of faculty members in the college, it was delivered by Director of Registration and Student Affairs Division, Assist Lecturer Maamoun Jassem.

The Workshop included developing web applications, highlighting and developing Internet applications, as he explained that since the mid-1990s, the web industry has become one of the fastest growing industries on Global level. In 1995 there were less than a thousand companies specialized in developing websites in  United States of America.

But by 2005, there were more than thirty thousand companies specialized in this field in the United States alone. In addition, the cost of developing and hosting websites has decreased rapidly, as previously it cost thousands of dollars to create a website, while the user can now develop his own website for free using one of the website building tools such as those provided by Google and others, nowadays the smallest web development companies on the Internet are able to enter the market and provide their services to small companies and individuals, which is a driver for the rapid growth of this industry.

The workshop aims to clarify some of the electronic systems that will be applied in the college.
