Faculty of Arts: a Field Study in (Sawha) Lake for Postgraduate Students

Under the auspices of Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Hussein Dakhil Al-Bahadli, Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the College, Al- Iraqia University, conducted a field study in (Sawah) Lake in Al-Muthanna Governorate.

The study aimed to reveal the scarcity of water resources in Iraq due to climatic changes and their environmental effects on population societies, which showed their effects on economic activities, including plant deterioration, population migration, and the cessation of tourism.  Sawah lake in Al-Muthanna Governorate is one of the wonders of the world with its location, morphology and composition, which is located in dry desert region in southern Iraq and includes landforms so beautiful, surrounded by (Sawah) dunes that extend to the borders of Saudi Arabia.
