A Scientific Event on Occasion of World Diabetes Day in Cooperation with Al-Bilad Company

Continuing Education Unit at College of Medicine at Al- Iraqia University, in cooperation with (Al-Bilad) Company, organized a scientific event, World Diabetes Day occasion, in 11/9/2022, in Postgraduate Hall of the college, where Dr. Maysa Nihad, head of Pediatrics Department, and Assist. professor, Dr. Saad Fadel, teaching assistant in Internal Medicine Department, gave two lectures on diabetes.

The head of Pediatrics Department, Dr. Maysa Nihad, indicated in her lecture (Type 1 Diabetes in Children) to the need to educate parents about the importance of the disease and how to deal with the affected child, in addition to using modern methods in teaching affected child and how to respond to its own treatments.

Assistant Professor Dr. Saad Fadel also illustrated to the audiences the importance of type 2 diabetes in adults and the importance of conducting periodic check-ups to detect type 2 diabetes, in addition to the most important treatments currently used in Iraq.

The scientific event was attended by Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Jamal Al-Qaisi, Associate Professor for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Nawar Sahib Khalil, and for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hussein Musharraf, in addition to a group of cadres, teachers, and staff of Faculty of Medicine. The Dean pointed to the need to intensify scientific activities and lectures to develop cadres and teachers

For his part, the official of Continuing Education Unit, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Rushdi Al-Darkazli, stated that these events will be present during the current Academic Year.
