Under the patronage of the Rector of Al- Iraqia University, Prof. Dr. Ali Saleh Hussein, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Muwaffaq Shia Alwan, Faculty of Engineering, Al- Iraqia University held a workshop entitled Why do countries refuse to print money to solve their economic problems.

The Workshop delivered by Eng. Hossam Atallah Jamil, Head of Finance Division at College of Engineering.

The workshop dealt with mechanism of printing money in the country and who is the responsible authority for printing, and addressed the most prominent problems that accompany printing money in unstudied quantities.

The workshop aimed not to inject currencies larger than the size of the economy (goods, services and foreign exchange reserves) because this would lead to a decrease in the purchasing value of the currency and an increase in prices, so the printing process must be thoughtful and taking into account the growth rates and cash reserve of foreign currencies and government bonds.
