College of Islamic Sciences Discusses (Islamic Financial Engineering and Hedging Industry)
College of Islamic Sciences at Al- Iraqia University discussed a doctoral thesis on Islamic financial engineering and the hedging industry, an economic study.
The thesis presented Mustafa Karim Gohar, aimed to clarify the importance of the tools that should be used in Islamic finance products and to clarify their characteristics, advantages and jurisprudential adaptations, in addition to their risks and methods of hedging them, while standing on the jurisprudential innovations of these products.
The thesis, part of which was attended by Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shaker Al-Kubaisi and his Assistant for Student Affairs, Dr. Moataz Qassem, included financial institutions and their impact on Islamic financial engineering, as well as hedging procedures for some Islamic financial institutions in Iraq, and the project to establish insurance institutions in Islamic endowments offices.
The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Aziz Ismail Muhammad, and membership of Prof. Dr. Ali Hazem Ahmed, Assistant Professor Dr. Qusay Masahir Muhammad, Assistant Professor Dr. Ibrahim Kawan Ali, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Abd Bakheet, and Assistant Professor Dr. Luay Ahmed Hadi, as a member and supervisor.
