Master’s Thesis on (Methods of Persuasion in Electoral Campaigns Through Social Networking Sites)

College of Media at the Iraqi University a master’s thesis specializing in journalism, about methods of persuasion in electoral campaigns through social media were discussed , an analytical study on the Facebook pages of entities participating in Iraqi Parliament elections in 2021 for the period from 8/7-2021 to 10/2021 10), by student Russell Muhammad Abbas.
The thesis aims to introduce the importance of role of the electoral campaigns organized by the entities participating in the elections of Iraqi Council of Representatives, using the method of content analysis, both qualitative and quantitative, to analyze the methods of persuasion in the electoral campaigns of party lists on Facebook.
The thesis concludes monitoring of all persuasive methods that were employed by competing lists in the elections through digital media, as well as monitoring of the discrepancy in methods compared to the previous parliamentary elections.
The thesis concluded that electoral campaigns varied in the use of persuasion methods from one list to another. The official pages of the electoral lists dealt with a number of persuasive methods with the presence of variation and difference in those methods according to the goal of the page and what you see in employing one method over the other in electoral campaign.
The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Ayser Khalil Ibrahim as Chairman and Prof. Dr. Anmar Waheed Faydi as an external member and Assist. Prof. Muhammad Ahmed Mukhlif as a member and Prof. Dr. Mohsen Aboud Kashkool as a member and supervisor.
