The College of Islamic Sciences Re-Examines Al-Aryani’s Legacy in a Distinguished Doctoral Thesis

The College of Islamic Sciences at  Al-Iraqia University  discussed a doctoral thesis entitled: “The Methodology of the Scholar Uthman bin Abdullah Al-Aryani (d. 1168 AH) and His Efforts in His Book Khair al-Qala’id Sharh Jawahir al-Aqa’id.” The thesis was submitted by researcher Hassan Khaled Wali as part of the college’s efforts to revive Islamic scholarly heritage and shed light on its prominent figures.
The thesis aimed to introduce Al-Aryani’s contributions to serving Islamic doctrine, review his method of classification, and his editing of Khair al-Qala’id, which is considered one of the most important commentaries on the science of doctrine, reflecting his scholarly standing within the Arab theological school.
The discussion committee consisted of Professor Dr. Omar Issa Omran as Chairman, and members: Professor Dr. Khaled Issam Khalil, Professor Dr. Hussein Aliwi Hussein, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Ramadan, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Wahhab, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Hashem Rahim.
This discussion comes within the framework of the college’s efforts to support sound research that addresses the doctrinal and intellectual heritage of the Islamic nation, and to highlight the scholarly efforts that have contributed to building a solid Islamic intellectual identity.
