A Master’s Thesis in the Faculty of Arts at Al-Iraqia University Discusses the Developmental Dimensions of Localizing the Fallujah Cement Plant in Anbar Governorate.

A master’s thesis entitled “The Developmental Dimensions of Localizing the Fallujah Cement Plant in Anbar Governorate: A Study in the Geography of Industrial Development” was discussed at the College of Arts at the Al-Iraqia University’s Department of Geography.
The thesis, submitted by student Walid Hamid Bada’ Yassin Al-Muhammadi, aimed to identify the historical aspect of the emergence of the cement industry and its development trends by analyzing the plant’s production and consumption indicators from the beginning of production until the year of study in 2024. It also aimed to identify the plant’s production and marketing problems. The thesis also identified the developmental dimensions of localizing the cement industry in Fallujah, with a focus on setting appropriate future development directions to address the challenges facing the plant’s production and marketing development process. The study’s most prominent findings, particularly in terms of providing job opportunities, improving income levels, developing the urban structure of Fallujah, and contributing to meeting the local market’s needs for cement products, including white cement, are also highlighted. It also seeks to develop the service sector and invest in primary raw materials within Anbar Governorate.
The thesis includes four chapters: Chapter One addresses the development potential of localizing the Fallujah Cement Plant; Chapter Two addresses the reality of production and marketing at the Fallujah Cement Plant and its problems; Chapter Three addresses the economic development impacts of the Fallujah Cement Plant; and Chapter Four addresses the urban, social, and service development impacts and future directions of the Fallujah Cement Plant.
